Butter | 300 g |
Margarine for baking | 200 g |
Eggs | 6 |
Sugar | 3,5 cups |
Honey of Ascania TM | 500 g |
Backing soda | 3 teaspoons |
Flour | 8-10 cups |
Sour cream | 1800 g (20% of fat) |
Coffee | 2 tablespoons |
Thickener for cream (sour cream) | 2-3 packs |
Ground walnuts |
When you prepare all ingredients, you can start to cook wonderful honey cake, melting in your mouth!
Melt the honey, sugar (0,5 cups), butter, margarine and add soda in a large saucepan. Mix well and remove from heat. Let it cool for a while.
Add eggs one by one, mixing every time.
Add gradually flour until the dough will be thick enough (approximately to consistence of crystalized honey).
Form 30 spheres and start to roll out as thin cake layers as possible. Ensure that the edges of the layers are even, cut them with a plate before baking. Bake a cake layer of any form from offcuts for decoration.
Bake cake layers at 180° C. Check them from time to time, cakes have to be golden.
Make cream. Combine coffee, sour cream, sugar (3 cups) and thickener. If you have opportunity to buy homemade sour cream, there will be no need for thickener.
Place the first cake layer on the plate for serving of the cake. Spread the layer with cream, put the next, squeeze it lightly, and then spread cream again. Repeat with all cake layers, including the top.
Spread carefully sides of the cake with cream.
Mix walnuts and crumbed cake layer from offcuts. Use it to decorate top and sides of the cake.
Put in the fridge for the night.
