The streets of the city have already been snow-covered, the frost is nipping at your nose and Christmas carols can be heard everywhere? This is a sign! It is a high time to drink a very tasty mulled wine!
This aromatic warming drink has been known from European countries of middle Ages. At that time, it was a real favorite of Christmas fairs and winter holidays. Fortunately, this tradition has not changed since that.
For perfect mulled wine, we need red wine (Bordeaux wine suits the best) and set of spices. The main rule is not to boil the drink. Let`s try to prepare the tastiest mulled wine in your life!
|Bottle of dry red wine||750 ml|
|Pinch of grated nutmeg|
|Ginger root||2 cm|
|Half of orange|
|Half of apple|
Boil all spices in the water for 2 minutes and leave for 15 minutes under the cover.
Slice the orange and the apple and put them with peel of lemon in a pot, pour wine, add honey and cook on a simmer, but do not boil. Add cognac.
At the end pour water with spices into wine and heat until the foam disappears (approximately to 70 degrees). Let the drink cool out for 10 minutes for saturated taste and flavor.
People drink mulled wine from special high glasses, which can be decorated with cinnamon stick and slices of orange or lemon. Do not forget to share with friends! Enjoy!
