Ascania-Pack Company is planning to increase the export volume of packed honey


In 2018 Ascania-Pack Company exported more than 7,5 thousand tons of honey, which is 15% of the total honey export from Ukraine. Also, this year the company is planning to increase volume of honey export and actively working on the development of packed honey selling for the retail market.

Olha Stadnik, the export director of Ascania-Pack, shared this news with during the international Green Week exhibition in Berlin, where the company presented wide range of own-produced honey in the Ukrainian pavilion.

 "Group of Companies Ascania" was founded more than 20 years ago and today has about 15 different business lines. One of them is the processing and export of honey by Ascania-Pack Company. We offer a wide variety of natural honey of polyfloral and monofloral kinds, and also, range of cream-honey with own-produced additives”, - says Olha Stadnik.

According to her words, both for the manufacturer and the exporter, for the company the main international exhibitions are SIAL and ANUGA. It is the first time when the company participates in the Green Week exhibition.

“We initially understood that this event has the format of a fair rather than an exhibition for finding business partners. Taking part here, our task is to analyze tastes of European consumers, understand which of products are sold the best and which should be improved. We need to define our target audience. Participation in this fair helped us perfectly complete all these tasks. This is like a regional market research. Moreover, we export our products to 27 countries, including Germany, so this market is interesting for us”, - notices Olha Stadnik.

At the stand of Ascania-Pack except traditional honey, the company presented a line of cream-honey with the addition of natural berries, ginger, lemon and chocolate.

“Cream-honey is quite a new product for us, we have been exporting it since November 2017. We understand that the European consumer wants something new, healthy and natural, so we offered a healthy food product - honey with the addition of natural ingredients. We use various recipes in production, but as the market has shown, the consumer wants to see a product of consistent structure, nice color, rich taste and at the same time, this product should be natural. Our cream-honey fully meets these criteria”, - says Olha Stadnik.

She also noted that the share of cream-honey in total volume of production is not large and the current capacity allows producing the required volumes. However, in the event of export increase, the company might install additional equipment in 2020.
